It’s Friday 56 time again!
This is a weekly book meme hosted by Freda’s Voice. Here are the rules:
*Grab a book, any book.
*Turn to page 56 or 56% in your eReader
(If you have to improvise, that’s ok.)
*Find any sentence, (or few, just don’t spoil it)
*Post it.
*Add your (url) post below in Linky. Add the post url, not your blog url.
*It’s that simple.

You may recognise today’s quote from the 56th page of Rainbow Rowell’s delightfully adorable (and kinda creepy/stalker-y, let’s be honest) adult contemporary, Attachments.
“Don’t mind these shitheads. I had to bring them, it’s my turn to be designated driver. They won’t kill our game, though, they hang in the kiddies section.”
“No worries,” Lincoln said.
“What?”
“No worries!” Lincoln wasn’t worried. He didn’t have any game to kill.
I really enjoyed this book – hopefully I’ll have a review up soon! Has anyone else read Attachments? I’d love to know your thoughts!
I read this book last year, and I thought it was a very entertaining, fast-paced read. The main character soon became one of my favorite protagonists in a contemporary. He’s such a teddy bear. ❤

Wow, I read this awhile ago and forgot that there was any profanity in it at all! I enjoyed the book but as someone who grew up with a dad in IT and entered the workplace in the 2000’s, I found the character’s indignation that their computer activity was being monitored while they were at work pretty hard to sympathize with!

There’s actually quite a bit swearing at some points, now that you mention it… Oh well! Thanks for commenting! 🙂

That’s funny just because I remember the plot as like an old school, pretty family friendly rom com!

It feels like a rom com movie at some points! But I’ve got a soft spot for those. I don’t usually read contemporary or romance but I always make an exception for Rainbow Rowell books. 🙂

Yeah, I don’t care, I still love a good rom com! And Rainbow Rowell writes good ones! I saw her speak in person at bookcon & I am now tormented because she raised a question about what exactly Elinor wrote on the postcard to Park (Rowell said she refused to tell her own mother since her mother doesn’t bother to read her books)… I had assumed it was the obvious Star Wars reference/tie in but now I don’t know!

Sounds like fun. And I’m looking for some light reads.

I have only read a couple of books by Rainbow Rowell and haven’t gotten to this one yet. I’m adding it to my list. My book this week is A Promise of Fire by Amanda Bouchet. Happy reading!

I chose page 56 in house of Hades and got
“the empousa’s favorite tactic was to make a guy fall in love with her, then drink his blood and devour his flesh. Not a great first date.”
I thought it would be easier to just post my quote here 🙂
